One time code: A one-time code is a user code for electronic locks that can only be used to access the lock once, after which it will no longer work. Also called dynamic codes.
4-eyes principle: Requires two people to open the safe. This is achieved by requiring two different user codes to be entered.
Duress code: A special code input that activates a remote alarm and/or notifies a remote monitoring station of a duress situation. Usually the code will still unlock the safe so that the assailant on site will be unaware that the user has activated the alarm. Also called connection to silent alarm.
Time functions
Opening delay: This the waiting time before you can open the lock. A lock that once set or activated will delay the opening by a determined time. These are very effective to deter the threat posed by armed hold up.
Multiple opening delay: Possibility to program multiple opening delays per day.
Time lock: Closing time period during which the lock will not allow any operation on the safe. For example after office hours, public holidays, etc.
Special caracteristics
External connection for alarm system: External connection to a remote monitoring station for signalling a duress alarm, managing door open / closed status of the safe door, etc.
Emergency key function: A back up mechanical lock that will open the safe in the event that the main electronic lock fails.
Reading audit with date and time stamp: A feature which allows the user to see a history of events. These vary in the detail that they give and the number of events that they will record. Often special software or a dallas reader need to be purchased separately.
Can operate multiple locks: One single keypad can operate multiple locks on the safe.
Remote management via TCP/IP interface: Lock can be remotely managed and programmed via the network. Works with special software and a IP-box which need to be purchased separately.
