At Nauta, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is central to everything we do. We combine economic growth with care for the environment, our employees, and the communities we operate in. Our goal? A sustainable business operation that makes a difference now and in the future.

What we do

Reducing energy and CO₂ emissions

Energy conservation and CO₂ reduction are high on our agenda. We are working towards certification for Level 3 of the CO₂ Performance Ladder, which provides continuous insight into our energy consumption and areas for improvement.

Our aim is to reduce CO₂ emissions by 10% by 2026 compared to 2023. Concrete steps, such as installing 802 solar panels on our premises in Barneveld, have already led to energy savings of over 80%. Additionally, after renovations, our building has been upgraded to energy label A+++++, and we now operate entirely gas-free.

Innovation in production

Safes
When developing safes, we focus on smart and sustainable solutions. For instance, we explore ways to produce safes using less material without compromising safety. This results in lighter safes that require fewer raw materials, consume less energy, and reduce transport costs. Moreover, we are working on designs that are easier to assemble, enhancing efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

Locks and hardware

When managing locking systems for clients, the reuse of cylinders and other components plays a vital role. If reuse is not feasible, we investigate whether parts like housings can be repurposed to prevent material waste.

Another example of sustainable innovation is our modular cylinder. This cylinder is made of reusable components, reducing environmental impact. It exemplifies how functionality and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Employee well-being and employability
We place great importance on the sustainable employability of our workforce. Through training and education, we support their professional development and future readiness. To raise awareness about health, we regularly organize "Stay Fit" themes. Additionally, we encourage physical activity through team events and sponsorship of sports initiatives, highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
