Nauta Security is a wholesaler and manufacturer of (certified) burglary and fire resistant safes. We are always on the alert for new developments and therefore able to offer a complete, up-to-date and competitive range. So , you will find an extensive range and variety of safes in our webshop. Besides burglary and fireproof safes, you have a choice of data safes, fireproof archive and filing cabinets, fireproof boxes, key safes and safety deposit safes from our own brands Salvus and Sistec and from other manufacturers, e.g. Juwel. We invest a lot in ensuring the quality and furthering development of these brands.

Burglar resistant safes

There are several types of safes on the market, with the biggest difference in categories being burglary resistant and fire resistant safes. Both types have unique and important properties. Burglar-resistant safes are specially designed to protect your valuables from external attacks and can be categorized in different resistance classes. The class is determined by various factors, such as the metal thickness of the walls and safe door and extra retarding factors that are incorporated in the walls.

Fire-resistant safes

A fire-resistant safe is specially built to protect contents such as important documents and digital media against the effects of fire for a certain period of time. So the wall construction is crucial. It must not only withstand the heat during a fire. It also needs to prevent penetration by moisture and soot particles to protect the contents of the safe.

Always choose a certified safe. Unfortunately there are still many safes on the market with claims of burglary or fire resistance but which offer little protection in practice. To ensure the quality of our safes, we produce them in state of the art European factories and have them tested and certified by ECB-S, the leading certification authority for burglary and fire resistant safes.

To help you make your choice, we have provided a short explanation below of the different types and we also explain what you need to pay attention to.

  • What has to be kept in the safe?

Data on, for example, a USB stick or a DVD is more easily damaged by fire than paper so it needs more protection. The amount of money or the total amount your valuables are worth is also important when choosing the right safe.

  • What sort of protection does the safe have to offer?

There are various safes available, safes which only protect against fire or which just protect against being broken into, but there are also safes which protect against both.

  • What kind of lock?

You have to think about the right kind of lock as well. There are various options to choose from and ease of use is a consideration as well.

  • Where is the safe going to be?

If the safe is going to be placed above the ground floor, you might want one that is protected to a higher standard because it can fall through the floor if there is a fire. If you are looking for a safe that is burglar resistant, but it is going to be in a room that is already very secure, you might want to choose one which is constructed to a lower standard.
